Arsenal staff have been shocked by Ben White since he walked in at London Colney, the Athletic report.
White has been very vocal on the training field and has ‘rallied’ those around him.
His personality doesn’t always seem to be the most dominant on the field, but the Arsenal coaches are said to have been pleasantly surprised by their findings with him so far.
White is now starting to form a really solid partnership with Gabriel, with their defensive strength one of the basis of Mikel Arteta’s side’s recent success.
Arsenal are now unbeaten in 10 games, and Gabriel and White have played a hugely important role in that.
The Gunners have conceded just three goals in their last six outings, with their defensive resilience providing a solid foundation for the team.
Arsenal were actually questioned after signing White for £50 million, but he is starting to look a shrewd investment.
Like with many of their summer transfers, there was a real method behind their recruitment.
And while some suggested that Arsenal had overpaid, their faith in their approach appears to be paying off.
Arsenal have now climbed the table rapidly, with Arteta’s men lurking just outside the top four as things stand.
The North London side do face a real test of their quality this weekend though.
Arsenal are set to come up against Liverpool at Anfield and if they can pick up a victory then they will move above Jurgen Klopp’s men in the table.
