Arsenal defender and Real Betis loan star Hector Bellerin used a data consultancy agency to find him a new club this summer.
According to the Athletic, the Spanish international worked alongside Analytics FC to help Bellerin identify a team that would suit the defender’s qualities.
The 26-year-old was eager to leave Arsenal this summer, with the right-back eventually moving to Betis on loan. And as per the report, the Seville-based club were high up on the list provided by Analytics FC.
After all, Manuel Pellegrini’s system suited Bellerin’s style of play. And the departure of Emerson Royal, who returned to FC Barcelona and was then sold to north London rivals Tottenham for £25m, also played a key role.
The departure of Bellerin proved to be an important transfer for Arsenal. The Catalan defender’s departure allowed Mikel Arteta to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna on deadline day.
The Japanese fullback made his Arsenal debut over the weekend. And Tomiyasu impressed, with the defender keeping a clean sheet and impressing supporters with his both defensive and attacking qualities.

Indeed, the 22-year-old could prove to be a suitable replacement for Bellerin. The Hale End graduate will always remain a fan favourite at the Emirates, but this summer was the right time for the player to go on a new adventure.
And with Betis, Bellerin could rediscover his form that made the defender one of the Premier League’s most exciting fullbacks.
