Arsenal have apparently set aside a ‘huge’ chunk of their transfer budget to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina in January, Gazetta claim.
Vlahovic to Arsenal?
They say that Arsenal have made it clear to Fiorentina’s owner that they would be willing to pay a significant sum of money to take their star striker off them.
The problem for the Gunners is still two-fold though.
The first issue with any deal is that Fiorentina want £85 million to sell their striker in mid-season, which would make him the Gunners record signing by a considerable distance.
The other problem is that it is claimed that Vlahovic wouldn’t be interested in a move to the Emirates Stadium.
It has previously been reported that Vlahovic has ignored Arsenal’s calls to sign him, and it seems that his stance hasn’t changed – despite Mikel Arteta’s side continuing to track him.
The report would suggest that the 21-year-old, who has been called ‘majestic’ by his teammates, is Arsenal’s top target for January, given the sum of money that they would be willing to pay to sign him.

Good signing?
It is easy to see why the Gunners are so keen to land him.
Vlahovic has scored 15 goals in 17 games so far this term, making him one of Europe’s most in-form forwards.
If he was to arrive at Arsenal he could immediately step straight into their starting line-up.
Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang have doubts over their futures, while Folarin Balogun is yet to convince he is ready to make the step up, so a new number nine looks a priority.
Vlahovic does appear to be a particularly appealing target right now, but whether Arsenal can get a deal done, even with huge money on offer, still remains to be seen.
