The Scotsman claim Manchester City are considering a move to sign Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney as they look to bring in a left-back this summer. Brighton’s Marc Cucurella has also been strongly linked.
Tierney, 25, has endured another tricky season at Arsenal in which he has been plagued by injury. An early ankle issue saw him lose his place to Nuno Tavares for six league games, before knee surgery ended his season in March.

Nevertheless, Tierney’s talent is unavoidable. A player that is already deserving of iconic status at Celtic, he has starred in his 86 games at Arsenal. His work rate, leadership and relentless style of play has won fans over.
Little surprise then, that Manchester City are considering a move to bring in Tierney and solve their left-back problem area. Whether he is preferred to Spaniard Cucurella, remains to be seen this summer.
Manchester City considering Arsenal defender Tierney
It is a move that will split City fans. On one hand, many will love the idea of signing of Tierney. A player with a solid record for getting forward and creating goals. With Erling Haaland, assists will could come easy.
However, his injury record at Arsenal is poor. Just 86 games in three years is not enough. Whether those injury issues are now behind is still up in the air and it should be a consideration for City and Pep Guardiola.
But in terms of when Tierney is on the pitch, does he suit Manchester City? Without a doubt. His winning mentality born out of five title wins at Celtic makes him perfect for Guardiola’s men.
Indeed, he was a target for Guardiola and City during his Celtic days – back in 2016.
