Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been excluded from Arsenal’s mid-season training camp to Dubai this week.
According to the Telegraph, the former Arsenal captain has been informed that he will remain in London whilst most of the squad make the trip to the Middle East for warm-weather training.
To add insult to injury, Jack Wilshere, who is not even contracted to the club, is also expected to travel with Arsenal to the United Arab Emirates as the Gunners use take advantage of the Premier League winter break.
Aubameyang was stripped of the captaincy in December, with Mikel Arteta now eager to offload the striker this month as per the report. However, the 32-year-old’s £350,000-a-week wages are proving to be a problem for the north London side.
As reported by the Athletic, there is an offer on the table from Saudi Arabia club from Al Hilal for Aubameyang which covers the attacker’s entire wage package as well as includes an £8m option to buy at the end of the season.
However, the Gabon international is eager to stay in Europe, with the forward more than capable of playing top-level football despite his poor form this season with Arsenal and his lack of minutes over the past few weeks.
Latest Arsenal move on Aubameyang could the final straw

Aubameyang’s time at Arsenal is slowly coming to an end, and this latest move from the club could be the nail in the coffin for the striker that pushes him out of the north London side for good.
Indeed, it is sad to see how Aubameyang’s relationship with Arsenal is ending. The forward has arguably been one of the Gunners’ best attackers in some time, yet with Arteta now pushing the striker further away from the squad, the 32-year-old must realise that he must leave soon for the betterment of his career.
