According to RMC Sport, Arsenal are interested in signing Christopher Nkunku, who was said to be a target for Tottenham in 2021.

What’s the story?

Well, the Frenchman is having an incredible season, and Arsenal are keeping a close eye on his performances.

RMC Sport believe Real Madrid and Juventus are also monitoring the 24-year-old, who Foot Mercato claimed Spurs wanted last summer.

Nkunku has burst into life this season, scoring 18 goals in 30 games across all competitions for RB Leipzig, while also providing 13 assists.

To record 31 goal involvements in just 30 games is a remarkable effort by the attacking midfielder, to say the least.

Olivier Mintzlaff – Director of Football at RB Leipzig – recently issued a hands-off warning in regards to his No.18, who he’s determined to keep.

Nkunku has a contract with the Bundesliga side until June 2024, so any club interested in signing him will have to pay up.

Interestingly, Unai Emery wanted Nkunku at the Emirates Stadium in 2019, so you would imagine that Arsenal have done their homework.

The fact they remain interested in the Frenchman to this day suggests they were encouraged by initial scouting reports, which bodes well for their hopes of winning the race.

In our view, signing Nkunku would be made all the more sweet if the Gunners beat Spurs to his signature.

Should the RB Leipzig man go on to star in the Premier League, Tottenham may never live down the fact they missed out on him.

Keep an eye on this saga, as Arsenal certainly seem to be huge admirers of Nkunku.
