According to The Sun, Arsenal are keen to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale this summer.
The Gunners are surely in the market for a new goalkeeper or two this summer with Bernd Leno’s future unclear and loanee Mathew Ryan back at Brighton and Hove Albion.
With Arsenal looking at a host of stoppers, it’s believed that Ramsdale is on the radar following his relegation with Sheffield United.
Arsenal’s interest in Ramsdale
It’s stated that Ramsdale is a ‘surprise’ name on Arsenal’s wish list, but the Blades want to recoup the £20million they spent to sign him from Bournemouth last summer.
It’s unclear whether Arsenal would pay that kind of money for Ramsdale, who has been called into the England squad following Dean Henderson’s injury.
The interest comes at an interesting time too, as the Daily Mail reported last week that Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Ramsdale, meaning Arsenal could challenge their bitter rivals.

What about Andre Onana?
Arsenal’s main goalkeeping target looks to be Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, whose ban for a doping violation was cut last week.
NOS claim that Edu has promised Onana that he will be first-choice at Arsenal, and can be signed for less than £8million.
That’s a much better deal than paying £20million for Ramsdale, and fans would surely rather have the Cameroonian ace.
