According to Goal Brasil, Arsenal are once again interested in taking Neto from Barcelona, and Newcastle could end up benefitting if a deal materialises.
What’s the story?
Well, it was said that Mikel Arteta wanted to sign the Brazilian in January, although a move never happened.
The Gunners have since signed Matt Turner from the New England Revolution, although it looks as if Arsenal are still keen to bring Neto to the Emirates Stadium as well.
That would mean Arteta has four goalkeepers in his squad, which in our view, is one too many.
The 32-year-old is also keen to leave the Camp Nou, where he has played second fiddle to Marc-André ter Stegen since his €26m (£22m) arrival from Valencia in July 2019.
Goal Brasil believe Barcelona are willing to accept any offers for the South American, as they are desperate to remove his salary from the wage bill.
Therefore, it seems like a deal would be quite simple for Edu to complete, although Arsenal’s Director of Football also faces competition from Aston Villa and Everton.

Goal Brasil add that Arsenal are simply monitoring Neto’s situation right now, and are yet to submit an official bid.
The South American made just four appearances last season, so it’s no wonder he wants to leave.
Arsenal signing Neto could benefit Newcastle
As aforesaid, Arsenal would have four goalkeepers if Neto arrived in north London – Aaron Ramsdale, Bernd Leno, Turner and Neto.
Now, we believe the Gunners may have reignited their interest in Neto due to uncertainty over Leno’s future.

It has been said that Newcastle want to sign the Germany international – who has been described as “amazing” – and Eddie Howe has made him a key target this summer.
Leno has reportedly been granted permission to leave Arsenal this summer after losing his spot to Ramsdale, so could the fresh interest in Neto be a sign that the German is now on his way out?
Only time will tell, but we think that’s exactly what is happening at Arsenal…
