A claim has been made that Arsenal are eyeing Wilfried Gnonto as a potential incoming in the summer transfer window.
This comes from Calciomercato, as Mikel Arteta’s side will be hoping to mount an even more serious Premier League title challenge next season.
Now, it seems like Wilfried Gnonto has been shortlisted as possible transfer target by Arsenal, especially after Leeds United’s relegation at the end of the campaign.
Arsenal keeping tabs on Wilfried Gnonto ahead of summer transfer window
While Sam Allardyce found it a task too tall to keep Leeds in the Premier League in what was a shambolic season, perhaps the sole redeeming factor for the club was witnessing the £3.8m million (Daily Mail) man at Elland Road.
Branded as a ‘gem’ by Football 365, the 19-year-old’s performances impressed to the extent that Gary Neville dubbed him as a ‘Manchester City winger.’
Now, it has been reported that Arsenal are ‘following his situation closely’ as they eye a transfer involving Wilfried Gnonto.

However, it has been claimed that several top Serie A sides are also keen on Gnonto’s signature but it remains to be seen whether he is looking to leave Leeds.
Wilfried Gnonto would be an astute pickup
Many might wonder why Arsenal are intrigued by a transfer for Wilfried Gnonto, considering Leandro Trossard can provide more than adequate cover on the left flank, while a right-winger remains a bigger need.
While that may be true, it would be silly to pass up on an opportunity to sign such an incredible talent and that too for a cut-price deal, as his side have been relegated.
Under Mikel Arteta’s guidance, who has shown that he is a master at coaching wingers, the Italian international could develop into a phenomenon.
The best teams ultimately add quality to their sides as they understand that having a variety of profiles at one’s disposal is never a negative.
