Italian website TuttoJuve claim Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham are all about to enter a £34million bidding war for Juventus ace Weston McKennie. The player in question has been the subject of talks, and is keen to move.

McKennie, 23, has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League. That interest is set to remain, with the USA international being linked with both North London clubs and cash-rich Newcastle this summer.

The ex-Schalke midfielder joined Juventus last summer after originally joining the club on a loan-to-buy deal. It was a deal struck by Fabio Paratici, who now wants him at Spurs. He once called McKennie: “very intelligent”.

Now, all three have had talks with McKennie’s representatives and Juventus – and they are ready to submit offers. Juventus want £34million for the versatile ace, who has a contract the Old Lady until 2025.

Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham make McKennie bids: £34m fair?

Not only is McKennie a regular in Max Allegri’s Juventus side, but he is only 23 and one with huge international experience – scoring nine goals in 31 caps. McKennie is one of the best U23 midfielders in European football.

So, for £34million, it is a bargain. Who needs him the most? Well, the biggest gap in quality between current midfield and McKennie would probably be Arsenal. Thomas Partey’s form has been up and down.

Granit Xhaka looks past it, and Albert Sambi Lokonga has not been good enough. Mo Elneny’s contract ends in June. Arsenal need McKennie much more than Tottenham and even Newcastle need a midfielder this summer.
