Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds have all made a move to sign Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid, who has a €30m (£26m) release clause.
What’s the story?
Well, the Premier League trio have all made contact with the Spanish side as they look to sign the 18-year-old.
That is according to AS in Spain, who believe Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma have also positioned themselves to sign the right-back.
The Spanish news outlet believe other Premier League sides are thinking about entering the race to sign Fresneda, but Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds have already taken action.
AS do not go into detail about what this action is exactly, although we would presume that Mikel Arteta, Jürgen Klopp and Jesse Marsch’s sides have simply sent an enquiry to Real Valladolid to ask about the teenager’s availability.

So far this season, Fresneda has made six appearances in La Liga for Real Valladolid, helping them to 12th in the Spanish top-flight.
Arsenal well placed to beat Liverpool & Leeds to Fresneda
In our view, Arsenal are in a better position than Liverpool and Leeds in the race to sign Fresneda.
For a start, the teenager is Spanish, so he may feel more comfortable working with a fellow Spaniard – as well as one of Europe’s most impressive coaches – in Arteta.
The 40-year-old has also proven himself to be very talented when it comes to working with young prospects, so Fresneda may feel he has the best chance of fulfilling his potential in north London

Aside from that, the Gunners seem most in need of a new right-back, with Fulham said to be keen on signing Cedric Soares in January – according to Sky Sports.
Arteta already has Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu who can play in that area, although with a Premier League title to compete for – up against the immense squad depth of Manchester City – he will surely want to sign a new option if Cedric does depart, which seems likely.
Keep an eye on this situation, as Fresneda could soon be arriving in the Premier League.
