Victor Osimhen going to Arsenal is a rumour that doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon – and definitely not now.

On May 1, it was reported in Italy that the Gunners were weighing up an offer for the Napoli marksman who, according to Transfermarkt, has 18 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions this season.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Arsenal have been told to cough up around £100 million for the player.

However, it would appear as if the North Londoners’ hierarchy didn’t heed that advice.

That’s because Calciomercato reported on Saturday that Arsenal have now formally offered £76 million to sign the Nigeria international.

The same report also added that the Italian outfit have rejected the bid and are looking for something a lot closer to £93 million.

Is Victor Osimhen going to Arsenal?

If Osimhen going to Arsenal, the Emirates Stadium outfit will have to get a lot more serious about bringing the 23-year-old to North London – and to be honest, they should wise up a little.

The truth is that by June, Mikel Arteta and Edu might only have one striker on their books – 20-year-old Flo Balogun.

Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are both out of contract at the Emirates this summer and it’s probable that the duo will be leaving Arteta’s side on Bosmans.

Unfortunately, Arsenal don’t have the luxury of lowballing Napoli here because their desperation for a striker is plain to see and they certainly don’t want to annoy the Italian club with a series of offers below what they want for him.

Osimhen – who’s better than Dusan Vlahovic, according to a Serie A pundit – is hot property and if Arteta and Edu dither on this, someone else is certain to swoop in and make them pay.
