Arsenal have reportedly inquired to Inter Milan over 23-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez.
According to the Telegraph, the Gunners are keen on the Serie A superstar. Mikel Arteta and Edu are looking for attacking options that can improve the squad for next season.
Martinez was key to Inter’s title-winning campaign last year, with the attacker hitting 19 goals in all competitions.
As per the report, Inter have no interest in selling one of their star players this summer. Furthermore, the Nerazzurri are eager to renew Martinez’s contract with the club, which expires in 2023.
Striker is not a priority for Arsenal just yet. However, with Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette potentially leaving the Emirates this summer, a centre-forward could be on Arteta’s radar as the window progresses.
Martinez would transform Arsenal
And Martinez could be an unbelievable option for Arsenal. As per talkSPORT, Lionel Messi is a big fan of his Argentine counterpart, with the FC Barcelona icon labelling the Inter attacker as ‘spectacular’.
However, with Arsenal not competing in Europe at all next season, a move could be difficult for the north London side. That has not stopped them from making ambitious signings this summer, though.

The Gunners have already signed Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga, with Ben White close to joining as well as reported by the Athletic. Aaron Ramsdale is also a target for the Gunners as per the Telegraph.
With Arsenal also targeting a goalkeeper and a creative midfielder, it is a massive summer of change for the Premier League giants.
Factor in the likes of Hector Bellerin and Granit Xhaka potentially leaving for good, the Gunners could have an all-new look about them when the new season kicks off next month.
