According to Tuttosport, Arsenal’s decision to join Tottenham in the race for Takehiro Tomiyasu has caused a problem for both sides.
What’s the story?
Well, after the Gunners got involved, Bologna have seemingly decided to up the 22-year-old’s price tag to €20m (£17m) plus bonuses.
That will surely infuriate Tottenham, who were on the verge of signing Tomiyasu for £15m, according to The Athletic.
In our view, their annoyance will only be enhanced seeing as it’s their north London rivals Arsenal who have caused the inconvenience.
Bologna only paid €9m (£7.6m) in total for the 23-cap Japan international, so the Italian outfit are making a big profit nonetheless.
Now, it looks like Mikel Arteta and Nuno Espirito Santo’s respective sides will have to battle it out with Bologna’s new price tag in mind.
Frustrating for West Ham as well

Arsenal’s decision to join the race hasn’t only impacted Spurs.
It has been said that West Ham are also keen to sign Tomiyasu, so they surely won’t be happy to hear that his price tag has increased.
In truth, Bologna should’ve done this ages ago.

To have three leading London clubs fighting for your player is a decent situation to be in for a side in need of cash.
Premier League clubs – despite the effects of COVID-19 – are still doing okay financially, whereas the rest of Europe seem to be struggling.
Now, it will be interesting to see if anyone walks away from negotiations, following Bologna’s decision on Tomiyasu’s value.
