According to Sky Sports, Norwich City are interested in signing Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo this summer.
It’s claimed that the Canaries want to bolster their defensive options after winning promotion back to the Premier League.
Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer and Koln’s Sebastiaan Bornauw have been tracked, with Fulham’s Adarabioyo now a target too.
Who else wants Adarabioyo?
The Athletic reported earlier this month that Arsenal want to sign Adarabioyo, with Mikel Arteta seemingly well aware of his quality from working together at Manchester City.
That report noted that Newcastle United also fancy signing Adarabioyo, meaning Norwich will face a major battle.
Why is he so in-demand?
Adarabioyo is a gigantic presence at 6ft 5in tall, and he won 81 aerial duels this past season, ranking 12th in the Premier League.
Not only is Adarabioyo strong in the air, but he has been hailed as ‘fast’ by Pep Guardiola, with that blend of size and pace no doubt appealing, whilst at 23 he should have his best years ahead of him.
How does Emiliano Buendia impact him?
There could be an interesting knock-on effect here. Arsenal are reportedly in talks over a £40million deal to sign Norwich playmaker Buendia.
If the Gunners send that kind of cash to the Canaries, they could be in a position to reinvest a chunk of it on Adarabioyo, potentially beating the Gunners after they sink a huge chunk of their budget into Buendia.
Arsenal will no doubt have other defensive targets in mind, but the cash for Buendia may well be used by Norwich to sign another Gunners target in Adarabioyo.
