Arsenal technical director Edu Gaspar reportedly met the agent of LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David, with the forward on the Gunners’ list for a new striker.
According to Football London, the north London side are eager to sign a striker this month, with the likes of Alexander Isak, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Dusan Vlahovic on Arsenal’s radar.
Whilst paper talk has been dominated by the ACF Fiorentina star, it appears that the Arsenal chief has been working his magic on another target, that being 21-year-old Canadian international David.
The Ligue 1 title-winner has been in fantastic form this season, with the Brooklyn-born attacker bagging 16 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions. And now, David has caught the eye of Arsenal.
A fast striker able to play both as a centre-forward and as an attacking midfielder, David is one of the hottest prospects in world football and a player many clubs are interested in signing, including Arsenal.
Indeed, the forward could offer a different approach to what Arsenal seem to be looking for, with David a player known for his pace and clinical finishing rather than his build-up play.
David signing could cause tactical change for Arsenal

The Canadian international has been nothing short of brilliant this season. However, with Lille playing most of their football in a 4-4-2 formation and David being the shortest of the four strikers Arsenal are looking at, the youngster could face a culture shock at the Gunners.
With Mikel Arteta favouring a system with a sole striker in recent weeks, the 21-year-old could take some time to adapt to the new style of play for Arsenal, which could cost the Gunners.
