According to CBS Sports, Arsenal target Tyler Adams has a release clause in his RB Leipzig deal – but the Gunners may still miss out.

It’s claimed that Leipzig don’t want to lose Adams but they may not be able to stand in his way due to a release clause in his contract.

Arsenal’s interest was first reported by The Athletic and looks to be heating up as Edu and Mikel Arteta seek summer reinforcements.

Arsenal want Adams – but could still miss out

It’s no great shock that Adams is on Arsenal’s radar, as he can play in two positions that Arsenal need to bolster – central midfield and right back.

The 22-year-old is athletic and has bags of energy, with Mikel Arteta surely attracted by the proposition of having such a versatile player.

The report does though claim that other Premier League clubs want Adams and are actually better placed than Arsenal to sign him, meaning Edu will have to get working to bring Adams in.

What has been said about Adams?

The former New York Red Bulls talent always seemed destined for Leipzig, and Jesse Marsch – who managed Adams in the US, coached him at Leipzig and is now his manager again – has raved about him.

Marsch has branded Adams a ‘special talent’, claiming that his ceiling is ‘massive’ as he predicted a huge future for the youngster.

Marsch won’t want to lose Adams having just reunited with him yet again, but he really ticks the boxes for Arsenal given his energy, potential and versatility.
