Arsenal are said to be keen to sign Tyler Adams from Red Bull Leipzig by the Athletic.
Adams has impressed both at right-back and in defensive midfield and that appeals to Arsenal, who admire his versatility.
Arsenal are on the hunt for a new right-back, as it seems that Hector Bellerin could depart.
If Bellerin does go, the Gunners don’t really have a stand out option for the right hand side of their defence, so making a signing in that position will surely be a priority for Mikel Arteta and Edu this summer.
Adams certainly could be an interesting option, although Leipzig are believed to want to keep hold of the 22-year-old American.
The Athletic say that could cause Arsenal to come back at a later date, when Leipzig are more open to a sale.

Adams has already been called ‘fearless’ by Leipzig boss Jesse Marsch (Goal), who was impressed by the youngster.
His mentality was also praised by his former teammate, Bradley Wright-Phillips, who told Goal that he reminds him of Gareth Bale.
And he does indeed look to be a good fit for the project Arteta is building at Arsenal.
The Gunners appear to be targeting long-term investments this summer, with a number of young players linked, and Adams’ showings in the Bundesliga this season suggest he could be a star of the future.
