Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are now concerned about signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic have reported that Calvert-Lewin is one of the strikers that Arsenal are looking at possibly signing this summer.

While Arsenal staff admire the 25-year-old, according to the report, there are concerns ‘after a difficult season due to injury and poor form’.

Calvert-Lewin was able to make only 15 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season due to his injury problems.

The Everton no. 9 scored five goals and gave two assists in those games.

The Sun reported in February that Calvert-Lewin is among the players Arsenal are planning to bid for this summer.

Everton reportedly value the 25-year-old at £60 million.

Should Arsenal sign Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin?

In our opinion, if Arsenal are convinced that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will make the Gunners better and like his attributes, then they should sign him despite an underwhelming season.

Just because the the £72,000-a-week (SalarySport) striker had one disappointing season affected by injury problems does not mean that he has become bad overnight.

Let’s not forget that the England international scored 16 goals in the Premier League last season and 13 in 2019-20.
