Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Jonathan David could leave LOSC Lille in 2022 for just €35m (£30m).

According to L’Equipe, the 21-year-old Canada international is eager to depart France next summer for a more competitive league. And with Lille’s financial situation the way it is, the reigning Ligue 1 champions are open to letting David leave for just £30m.

As per the report, David’s agent hasn’t been granted certain commissions by Lille since the striker’s arrival last year, seemingly fracturing the relationship between player and club. And this could play into the hands of Arsenal and Liverpool.

L’Equipe states multiple clubs are keen on the striker, with Liverpool listed as a side with a keen interest in David. Meanwhile, this week The Athletic reported Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the former KAA Gent star.

The news will come as a big revelation to the Premier League sides. Liverpool and Arsenal are both keen to sign a striker in 2022, and David’s new price tag could spark a transfer tussle between the clubs.

With David in red hot form this season, the attacker will be one of the most in-demand players in summer 2022. And with his price tag reportedly as low as £30m, interest in the Canadian will surely increase.

David has established himself as one of the top talents in Ligue 1 this season, with former manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck labelling the youngster a ‘phenomenon’ before his transfer to Lille.

And with the French club now open to selling the forward for just £30m, Arsenal and Liverpool will no doubt be extra motivated to sign the Canada international in the 2022 summer transfer window.
