According to SPORT, Arsenal and Everton are waiting to learn about Philippe Coutinho’s injury situation before making a move.

Coutinho injured his knee in the final game of 2020 and hasn’t featured for Barcelona since, going under the knife twice in order to try and solve the problem.

With no games played this year, it’s hard for any club to commit to signing Coutinho – and that’s what Barcelona are facing as they look to sell.

Arsenal and Everton in for Coutinho again

You seemingly can’t get through a transfer window without seeing Coutinho linked with both Arsenal and Everton, and here we are yet again.

Both clubs have been linked once again, with Leicester City also thought to be keen – but they all want to see Coutinho recovers from his injury first.

Coutinho is 29 now, and there may be major fears that he wouldn’t return as the same player, especially after so long on the sidelines.

Should Arsenal or Everton may a move?

Jurgen Klopp has branded Coutinho ‘world class’ in the past, and he certainly showed that at Liverpool, but he has struggled since joining Barcelona for £146million in 2018.

The Brazilian does still have quality, having notched 23 goals and 14 assists in 90 games for Barca, but he certainly isn’t the player that starred at Liverpool.

Arsenal and Everton should be going for quality young players with potential and resale value, rather than taking a punt on an injured player nearing his 30’s and on big wages.
