Arsenal may be keen on Antonio Conte as their next boss, but the Italian isn’t all that interested in making a move to the Emirates Stadium.

That’s according to The Independent, who claim that sources close to Conte believe the Italian has little interest in a move to North London.

Mikel Arteta finds himself under major pressure as Arsenal boss after losing his first two Premier League games of the season without even scoring a goal.

The Telegraph noted earlier this week that Arteta has five games to save his job, and Arsenal had picked out Conte as a prime target for the job if Arteta is to go.

However, it sounds like Conte isn’t keen because he doesn’t think Arsenal can compete for major silverware any time soon.

Conte likes to win. He won the Premier League in his first season at Chelsea, and won Serie A with Inter Mial last season.

Of course, every manager likes to win, but Conte isn’t much of a ‘project’ manager. He likes to go in and win trophies as soon as possible rather than build towards a four or five-year plan.

Arsenal are clearly in no place to win the Premier League title any time soon, and targeting Conte doesn’t really line up with where the Gunners are right now.

Conte seemingly knows that, and having turned down Tottenham Hotspur for similar reasons this summer, Arsenal look to have no chance.

Arteta needs results in order to end these rumours over his future, but at least the first name linked with the job doesn’t appear to be interested.
