Alaves are reportedly pushing to sign Newcastle striker Joselu.

According to Marca, Alaves have been in talks with Newcastle United about a potential deal to sign Joselu, alongside West Ham United striker Lucas Perez.
Alaves are set to lose a whole host of strikers, as Jonathan Calleri, Diego Rolan and Borja Baston are only on loan from Deportivo Maldonado, Deportivo La Coruna and Swansea City respectively.
All those strikers are set to return to their parent clubs, leaving John Guidetti and Ermedin Demirovic as the only two recognised centre forwards at the club for next season.
Marca now claim that Alaves sporting director Sergio Fernandez has been in talks with Newcastle about signing Joselu, who is out of favour at St James’ Park.
The Spaniard hit just three goals in 19 games this season, and he has become something of an unpopular figure on Tyneside, with fans desperate for him to leave for China in January.
That didn’t happen, and the 29-year-old played just twice after the end of the January transfer window, with his two appearances totalling just nine minutes.

Alaves may now offer Joselu an escape route, but it’s noted that they also want West Ham striker Perez, seemingly targeting the pair to join forces back in Spain.
They would seemingly be cheap given their limited playing time this season, and heading back to their native Spain may well be appealing to the duo.
