Jürgen Klopp has spoken to Liverpool target Sofyan Amrabat about a move to Anfield, with Tottenham also interested in the Morocco World Cup star.
What’s the story?
Well, the above is according to Foot Mercato in France, who believe Klopp has already met the 26-year-old’s representatives on his behalf, with the defensive midfielder keen to focus on the World Cup for now.
Nevertheless, the fact Amrabat agreed for his agents to speak to Liverpool is encouraging for the Reds.
Foot Mercato believe Tottenham are also monitoring his situation carefully, as they refuse to give up their pursuit of the Morocco international.
The French news outlet believe Spurs came very close to signing Amrabat last summer, but a move collapsed.

It is also said that Liverpool have agreed to hold further talks with the Fiorentina No.34’s representatives after the World Cup is over, discussions which could also involve the player himself being present.
Amrabat is currently putting his name up in lights at the World Cup in Qatar, delivering a masterful display at the base of Morocco’s midfield as the African side knocked Spain out on Tuesday to reach the quarter-final.
Liverpool & Tottenham set for Amrabat fight
Liverpool and Tottenham won’t be the only ones hoping to sign Amrabat after his heroic performances in Qatar.
Foot Mercato also mention that Inter Milan are keen on his services, while the midfielder’s agent, Mohammed Sinouh, told Fabrizio Romano that he has received plenty of enquiries about his client.
Therefore, it will be difficult for Liverpool to win the race for Amrabat’s signature.
However, if Klopp really has met up with Sinouh, we are convinced the German made a lasting impression.
The 55-year-old is a real character, who talks an excellent game as well as he coaches one.
If Liverpool have the finances – £26m is said to be Fiorentina’s asking price – then we believe they will win the race to sign Amrabat, especially as the midfield department at Anfield is in need of reinforcements.
