According to the Express, Everton are now eyeing Tottenham target Martin Terrier, who Liverpool want as a replacement for Sadio Mane.

What’s the story?

Well, this would be quite the signing for Everton.

Terrier was nominated for the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award last season, following a tremendous campaign in which he scored 21 goals in 37 league appearances.

The Frenchman’s form attracted a bid from Tottenham – which was rejected – and Rennes have now slapped a £34m price tag on their talisman’s head.

Interestingly, Jürgen Klopp supposedly believes Terrier is good enough to replace Mane, who he lost to Bayern Munich at the start of the summer in a deal worth £35m.

The Express add that Everton are also considering a move for the 25-year-old’s teammate Serhou Guirassy.

Clearly, Frank Lampard is keen to bolster his attacking options, after losing Richarlison to Tottenham and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to injury for the next six weeks.

Furthermore, Salomon Rondon is not exactly someone who can be relied upon for the entirety of the campaign.

Everton could beat Tottenham & Liverpool to a gem

If Everton manage to sign Terrier, we’re confident that the Goodison Park faithful would forget about Richarlison in no time.

After all, the Brazilian has never scored 21 goals in a single season like the Rennes No.7 did last term.

Terrier is a simply outstanding forward, who has even drawn comparisons to Thierry Henry for his efforts in France over the years.

It also speaks volumes that Klopp thinks he is capable of replacing Mane, a player who has been among the best on the planet over the last few years.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Lampard and Kevin Thelwell could pull off the signing of the summer if they can get this deal over the line.
