According to Fabrizio Romano, West Ham target Angelino is now giving serious consideration to joining Hoffenheim.
What’s the story?
Well, the Hammers have already suffered a slap in the face this week, as Amadou Onana has turned down a move to West Ham in favour of joining Everton, despite the fact Lille accepted a £33m bid from the Irons.
Now, David Moyes looks set to miss out on another target in Angelino.
In fact, it is something of a triple blow for West Ham, as Hoffenheim are only interested in the £16m man because RB Leipzig pinched David Raum – another target for Moyes – from them.
Romano believes Hoffenheim are optimistic about signing the Spaniard, and RB Leipzig are ready to happy to sell the left-back who they signed from Manchester City.
Interestingly, Rob Newman – Head of Recruitment at West Ham – actually played a key role in bringing Angelino to the Etihad Stadium, so many people felt the Hammers had a good shot at signing the defender.
Now, however, Moyes may need to look elsewhere.
West Ham still busy despite Angelino setback
There is some good news for West Ham supporters.
A deal for Maxwel Cornet appears to be close, with the Ivory Coast international set for a medical in east London after the Irons triggered his £17.5m release clause.
The option became active after Burnley suffered relegation from the Premier League.
Elsewhere, attempts to bring Filip Kostic to the London Stadium are continuing, and the Serbia international is supposedly tempted by a move to West Ham.
Therefore, we could see some progress on that pursuit soon.
However, the 29-year-old has also been offered to Juventus and Inter Milan, so that deal is far from simple.
