According to Milan Live, Sassuolo are ready to sell Leeds target Hamed Traore after Tottenham and West Ham joined the race for his signature.
Tottenham & West Ham eye Traore after Leeds interest
Well, Jesse Marsch was supposedly keen to sign the Ivory Coast international back in the summer – that was according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
However, Traore unfortunately suffered a fractured metatarsal in his left foot, which ruined any chance of a move to Elland Road.
Now, the competition for Leeds to fend off has increased, as Antonio Conte and David Moyes get involved.
Milan Live add that Brighton are also keen to sign the 22-year-old.
The Italian news outlet believe Sassuolo are ready to sell their No.23 for a sum of €30m (£26m) after he returned from injury, with AC Milan and Juventus also interested.
Traore only recently returned to action, making his first two appearances of the season in recent weeks, and picked up where he left off with an assist for Davide Frattesi’s winner in the 2-1 victory over Hellas Verona on Monday.
Last term, the Abidjan-born forward scored eight goals and provided four assists in 32 appearances.
Leeds, Tottenham & West Ham should wait
In our view, the Premier League trio should wait until the summer to make a move for Traore, rather than swoop in January.
Calciomercato believe the youngster required surgery on his injury over the summer, and having made just two appearances since, there hasn’t been enough time to see if it’s had any lasting impact.
By the summer, Leeds, Tottenham and West Ham will be able to properly analyse his progress, and have more confidence in their decision.
For example, if one of the interested parties rushed into a January deal, only for Traore to suffer a setback and require more surgery, it would be disastrous business.
