AC Milan are now reportedly eyeing a move to sign VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Aster Vranckx, with Everton and Nottingham Forest also interested in the Belgian youth international this summer.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the reigning Serie A champions are looking at the 19-year-old ‘sensation’ as an alternative to FC Midtjylland midfielder Raphael Onyedika, with Milan having a bid rejected for the Nigerian talent this week as the Rossoneri look to sign cover in the position in the final days of the transfer window.
As per the report, Milan could move to sign Vranckx as early as this week, though Wolfsburg could only allow their star prospect to leave the club on loan given how much the midfielder is valued by the Bundesliga side, with the teenager becoming a key part of the senior squad last season.
Milan are not alone in their interest to sign Vranckx, though, with Everton and Forest both reportedly keen on the former Mechelen star, who Wolfsburg only recruited last summer for a reported £7m, a relative steal given how highly-rated the Belgian is in Germany.
Indeed, with Milan now seemingly rushing to sign Vranckx this week, Everton and Forest could face an almighty battle to win the race for the Wolfsburg talent this summer, with the Rossoneri one of the best clubs in Europe for giving promising youngsters regular game time.
One could argue that it is this philosophy that won Milan the title last season, and for Vranckx, signing for the San Siro giants could be an exciting career move where the teenager could feature in the UEFA Champions League as well as compete for silverware at one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Milan and Vranckx should be pushing for quick signing this week

Whilst Wolfsburg will only allow Vranckx to leave on loan this summer, signing the midfielder could be quite the coup for Milan, who are in need of an extra body in the centre of the park as well as a young, dynamic option who can add something different to Stefan Pioli’s system.
Premier League interest might cause some problems for Milan, but given their recent Scudetto win and the sheer size of the club, Vranckx should be very tempted to join the Rossoneri this summer, and the two parties must be looking to complete a signing sooner rather than later.
