AC Milan are reportedly set to make contact with VfL Wolfsburg over the signing of Aster Vranckx, who is also believed to be a target for Premier League sides Everton and Nottingham Forest.

According to CalcioMercato, interest in Vranckx is growing from Milan with the reigning Serie A champions failing to strike up a deal for Raphael Onyedika and Jean Onana, meaning discussions could soon take place between the Rossoneri and Wolfsburg over Vranckx.

The Belgian teenager only sign for the Bundesliga side last year in a deal worth £7m, yet Vranckx has impressed massively for Wolfsburg, and, along with Milan, Everton and Forest are all reportedly interested in signing the 19-year-old wonderkid in the final week of the transfer window.

Labelled as a ‘sensation’ by Gianluca Di Marzio, Vranckx looks ready for the next step of his promising career already, with the versatile midfielder making an impressive 28 appearances for Wolfsburg in all competitions last season, scoring two goals, and Milan could be a better move for the youngster over Everton or Forest.

Indeed, whilst the midfielder is physically built for the Premier League, both Frank Lampard and Steve Cooper have signed young central midfielders to man the centre of the park this summer, and for Milan, the Italian giants are yet to make such a move, which is why Vranckx is such an interesting option.

With the Scudetto holders also competing in the UEFA Champions League, Vranckx will be determined to return to the competition after featuring in it last season for Wolfsburg, and the stars are all seemingly lining up for Milan to sign the teenager in the coming days.

Whilst Everton and Forest have signed young central midfielders this summer, there’s no denying that missing out on Vranckx is a huge blow for the Premier League duo, with Milan now in the driving seat to complete what could be one of the best deals of the window.

Vranckx is already a star in Germany and has proven to be capable of competing at the highest level, and for Milan, the Belgian teenager has the potential to become a key player for the Rossoneri for many years to come, with the midfielder seemingly the Italian side’s next big coup in the transfer market.
