Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher could really leave Anfield at the end of the season, according to a report.

Journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that Kelleher plans to consider his Liverpool future in the summer transfer window.

A number of clubs have been linked with the 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper, described by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as “absolutely insane” and “the best No.2 in the world” in The London Evening Standard in February 2022.

Celtic, Aston Villa and Leicester City all are claimed to be keen on securing the services of the 24-year-old in the summer transfer window.

Caoimhin Kelleher could leave Liverpool

Jones said about Kelleher: “As far as I understand, his intent was always to weigh things up at the end of the season and carefully consider his next move.

“Maybe that would be a loan. I don’t think this is just in Liverpool’s hands. I think Kelleher himself has to make a big decision.”

HITC Verdict: Caoimhin Kelleher should leave

In our view, Caoimhin Kelleher should leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window, at least on loan.

Alisson is the number one goalkeeper for Liverpool at the moment.

The Brazil international is one of the best goalkeepers on the planet and is genuinely world class.

So, Alisson is not going to lose his place in the Liverpool first team anytime soon.

Kelleher will remain the number 2, and that is going to make him a better player or enhance his career.

The 24-year-old has done well for Liverpool when he has played, and he has also earned 10 caps for the Republic of Ireland national football team.
