Record Sport report that the Scottish champions are interested in securing a loan deal for Tanganga before the window closes at midnight.
The former England under-20 international has also been linked with West Brom.
Celtic have conceded 20 goals in 24 Premiership matches this season, a record in stark contrast to title rivals’ Rangers tally of just seven in 26 games.
That vulnerability at the back has been a key factor in Celtic falling 23 points behind Steven Gerrard’s team.
