According to Calciomercato, Brighton and Burnley are interested in signing Robin Olsen, after he was discarded by Everton.
What’s the story?
Well, the 46-cap Sweden international spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Everton, where he did well.
Olsen made 11 appearances in all competitions while playing backup to Jordan Pickford, keeping three clean sheets.
Everton had a £7 million option to buy the 31-year-old in a permanent deal, although the Toffees decided against activating it.
Now, two Premier League clubs in Brighton and Burnley are thinking about swooping in and taking Everton’s unwanted goods.
Have Everton made a mistake?

After seeing Calciomercato‘s news, you might think Everton have made a mistake.
Olsen is an experienced, reliable shot-stopper who deputised for Pickford well, so it seems strange that Everton didn’t think he was worth £7 million.
He even managed to impress José Mourinho, which takes some doing.
Of course, Brighton and Burnley’s aspirations aren’t comparable to Everton’s.

However, if he’s good enough for the Premier League duo, then surely he’s good enough to be Pickford’s backup.
Interestingly, some Everton fans felt the club made a mistake in discarding Olsen, after watching him shine against Spain recently at EURO 2020.
Only time will tell, but right now, it seems an odd transfer decision.
