Celta Vigo man Okay Yokuslu would not have a problem with playing Championship football should West Bromwich Albion firm up their interest in the one-time Hawthorns loanee, as reported by AS

When the Baggies were relegated from the Premier League in May, their hopes of securing a permanent deal for the popular Turkish international appeared to have gone up in smoke.

But perhaps not.

While Conor Gallagher, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Mbaye Diagne are unlikely to return anytime soon, the same cannot be said about a man who is crying out for a fresh start after falling down the pecking order at Balaidos.

Will Okay Yokuslu return to West Brom from La Liga?

Yokuslu is no longer part of Celta Vigo’s plans.

In fact, the La Liga outfit are desperate to sell as soon as is humanly possible, with the midfielder’s exit key to freeing up funds for new signings.

A deal for Huesca left-back Javi Galan – formerly a target for Leeds United – cannot be completed until Yokuslu’s departure is confirmed.

While the 27-year-old has been linked with the likes of Watford, Crystal Palace and Leeds, AS believe he would be tempted by the prospect of returning to a club where he proved to be a big hit between January and June.

Yokuslu relished his role at the heart of West Brom’s midfield and, to quote AS, ‘wouldn’t mind playing’ in England’s second tier.

Bringing back a player with his poise, intelligence and energy would represent a major boost for a Baggies side expected to push for promotion under new coach Valerien Ismael next term.

While funds are tight at The Hawthorns, Yokuslu would not break the bank at around £4 million.

What’s more, with Leeds and Palace turning their attention to Midtjylland dynamo Jens Cajuste, West Brom are unlikely to face a barrage of competition for of a man whose arrival could set the tone for a title tilt.
