Maruo Icardi is reportedly hoping to sign for Galatasaray weeks after the PSG outcast was offered to both Newcastle United and Manchester United.
According to Foot Mercato, the Argentine international is pushing to sign for the Turkish giants after Icardi travelled to Istanbul this weekend to meet with the Galatasaray board, with the attacker now sold on a move to the European giants with a loan move now in the cards.
As per the report, Galatasaray are willing to sign the striker for the season without an option to buy, with the Turkish giants already recruiting the likes of Napoli legend Dries Mertens and Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira this summer, with Icardi seemingly the next player on Gala’s agenda.
PSG have been eager to sell Icardi for the majority of the summer, with Newcastle and United both reportedly offered the chance to sign the £45m Inter Milan signing as the French giants pushed to permanently offload the 29-year-old forward, with other Premier League sides presented with the opportunity to pursue the striker.
However, Galatasaray have emerged in the last few days as a frontrunner for Icardi, and with the attacker now sold on the project, a deal could be done before Thursday’s deadline in what would be one of the more interesting deals of the summer transfer window.
Indeed, Icardi is in need of a move to revive his career, which for the past three seasons as essentially seen the striker sit on the PSG bench, and moving to Galatasaray could provide just that, with the Turkish club in need of a reset on the pitch after their worst ever league finish last year.
Galatasaray signing Icardi could be give striker redemption arch he needs

Icardi’s career has been nothing short of explosive, from drama off the pitch with his wife Wanda Nara to his actual performances on it, the attacker might be adding more fuel to the fire with a move to a club as flamboyant as Galatasaray, yet signing for the Turkish giants could give the striker the redemption arch he has needed for years.
After all, it is easy to forget that Icardi was once one of the most lethal strikers in world football, and signing for Galatasaray could help the attacker find his killer touch in a division where the European spotlight will be off him, allowing the forward to focus on his game.
