Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham would consider joining Arsenal this summer, although a compromise needs to be reached before the £40 million striker can swap one Premier League giant for another, as reported by The Athletic.
While Chelsea appear to be fighting a losing battle in their attempts to sign an elite-level number nine before the end of August – Erling Haaland looks about as likely right now as Harry Kane or Robert Lewandowski – Abraham’s situation is not going to change anytime soon.
The England international quickly fell out of favour once Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in the Stamford Bridge dugout and was left out entirely during May’s Champions League final victory over Manchester City.
Although Olivier Giroud’s long-awaited move to AC Milan has left Chelsea without a single player who could be considered a ‘classic number nine’, it is believed the London giants will not stand in Abraham’s way should someone offer up the requisite £40 million fee over the next few weeks.
Should Tammy Abraham really join Arsenal from Chelsea?
Tottenham and West Ham United have both been linked with the 23-year-old, as have an Aston Villa side who signed Abraham on loan in 2018/19.

The smart money is on Abraham following in the footsteps of William Gallas, Petr Cech, David Luiz and co, with Arsenal understood to be leading the chase.
The Camberwell-born poacher, a boyhood Gunners fan, is allegedly aware of the interest and would consider a move across the city (Sun).
The Athletic does say, however, that while Chelsea want £40 million for Abraham, Arsenal would prefer to sign the striker on an initial loan deal.
Mikel Arteta may also have to make room for the one-time Swansea and Bristol City loanee first by getting rid of Eddie Nketiah or Alex Lacazette this summer.
Both players are out of contract next summer, with Nketiah a target for the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace.
