According to Fantacalcio, Tottenham are close to beating Leeds to the signing of Cagliari workhorse Nahitan Nandez.
What’s the story?
Well, the 41-cap Uruguay international has been heavily linked with Leeds throughout the summer – it was said that he’s Marcelo Bielsa’s top target.
However, the Argentine now looks set to miss out on his fellow South American after Tottenham got involved.
In the past few days, Fabio Paratici lodged a bid for the 25-year-old, and things seem to have moved quickly.
Now, Nandez is close to joining Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Tottenham will pay an initial loan fee of €5m (£4.3m) for the Uruguayan, who has been described as someone who leaves every last drop of sweat out on the pitch.
Heartbreak for Leeds as Tottenham swoop in

After hearing news of Tottenham’s interest, one Leeds fan admitted that they were gutted.
In that respect, we can only imagine the sadness they and potentially others at Elland Road are feeling towards this update.
Nandez looked destined to join Leeds – the saga was this year’s equivalent of 2020’s Rodrigo de Paul dramatics, without a doubt.

Additionally, if he really was Bielsa’s top target, we can’t imagine the Leeds boss is too happy about this – hopefully, he can get over it.
Leeds fans, if Nandez does join Tottenham, you’ll just have to hope he doesn’t score against you this season.
If he does, Bielsa might erupt.
