Liverpool now seem to be slipping behind Chelsea in the race to sign Brazilian wonderkid Endrick from Palmeiras.
According to The Times, the 16-year-old was invited to visit Chelsea’s Cobham training ground, which he accepted.
Endrick met an icon of his in Thiago Silva – who boasts 109 caps for Brazil – when travelling to west London with his family, and the striker’s father Douglas is said to be leading discussions with Todd Boehly.
Liverpool slip behind Chelsea in Endrick race
Well, The Times do mention Liverpool in their article, although it is said that the Reds are just tracking his development.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have made serious progress.
The Times believe the Blues are confident of signing Endrick, who has also been scouted by Arsenal, Manchester City, Barcelona, Ajax and Benfica.
When detailing how Real Madrid are also seriously interested in the South American prodigy, Marca in Spain believe Palmeiras are demanding €40m (£35m) to sell their No.16 as Europe’s elite circle.

Endrick recently became the youngest goalscorer in the history of Palmeiras, and has netted three goals in his six appearances in Brazil’s Série A so far.
The 2006-born striker also boasts a fantastic record at international level, scoring five goals in just four appearances for the Brazil Under-17 side.
Chelsea & Liverpool will have to wait for Endrick
Whoever wins the race to sign Endrick will have to wait for him regardless.
The Times add that the Brazil Under-17 international can only officially move clubs in 2024 after his 18th birthday, although he can sign a contract with an interested party in 2023.
Therefore, whoever wins this race in 2023 won’t be able to enjoy their latest investment for a while.
Nevertheless, on the basis of what we’ve seen from Endrick so far, he will be worth the wait.
