According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle and West Ham target Jesse Lingard is now in talks with Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Juventus.

What’s the story?

Well, the Magpies and the Hammers clearly have a difficult task on their hands, as the competition for Lingard’s signature is fierce.

The Daily Mail do actually mention that Newcastle are also in talks, although the discussions will have to be special if three European giants are to be fended off.

Interestingly, the report adds that Lingard’s negotiations with two of the quartet are at an advanced stage, although they do not mention which clubs.

Therefore, it’s possible that Newcastle are in advanced talks with the England international.

West Ham are not mentioned alongside Newcastle, PSG, AC Milan and Juventus in the Daily Mail‘s report.

In fact, it was the Daily Mirror who revealed that West Ham are trying to re-sign the 29-year-old, after he shone on loan at the London Stadium last term.

In just 16 Premier League appearances for the Irons, Lingard scored nine goals while also providing five assists, which is a phenomenal return.

Sadly, he has only played 355 minutes of Premier League football this season, as both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick overlook him.

Newcastle & West Ham have one chance to sign Jesse Lingard

In our view, this summer is the last chance for Newcastle or West Ham to sign Lingard.

The Warrington-born attacker, who was given no sendoff by Manchester United despite 20 years of service, turns 30 in December, so this will probably be his last big move.

Should he sign a three or four-year contract, for example, we presume Lingard’s next club will probably be in the United States, as retirement will be on the horizon.

Therefore, if David Moyes and Eddie Howe are serious about signing the Manchester United outcast, it may be a now-or-never situation.
