Yesterday, Manchester United recorded a 3-0 win over Brentford in the Premier League, in what was the final game at Old Trafford this season.

Jesse Lingard – who is wanted by Newcastle and West Ham – was left on the sidelines by Ralf Rangnick, and after full-time, the forward’s brother was furious.

What’s the story?

Well, after 20 years of service for Manchester United, Lingard wasn’t even given a sendoff in his final game in front of the Old Trafford faithful.

Louie Scott – the brother of Lingard – ripped into the Red Devils, accusing them of being a “classless” club with clueless people in charge.

The England international is set to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires in June, with Newcastle and West Ham circling.

Lingard is already said to have offers on the table from the Magpies and the Hammers, as well as from AC Milan, Juventus and Roma.

So far this season, the 29-year-old has barely featured for Manchester United, making just two starts in the Premier League.

In our view, the Red Devils should’ve used Lingard a lot more this season, following his stunning efforts on loan at West Ham in the previous campaign.

Newcastle & West Ham target should be devastated

In our view, Lingard has every right to feel upset after Manchester United failed to give him a sendoff in front of the fans at Old Trafford.

As his brother states, the Warrington-born attacker has been with the Red Devils since the age of nine, and has also played a key role since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Lingard scored the winning goal in the 2016 FA Cup final against Crystal Palace, while he also scored in the 3-2 win over Southampton in the League Cup.

For what it’s worth, he also scored a fantastic goal in a 2-1 win over Leicester back in 2016, to help win the Community Shield.

So, for Manchester United to just nudge him out of the exit door without a sendoff from supporters leaves a sour taste, to say the least.

Clearly, those in charge at Old Trafford have no concept of sentiment, which won’t win them many admirers.
