Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins could be offered to Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United and Frank Lampard’s Everton in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has told GiveMeSport that Leeds, Everton and Crystal Palace all could be offered the services of Watkins in the coming days if indeed Villa are willing to sell the striker, as reported by Football Insider this month.
CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs said on Twitter over the weekend that Leeds are interested in signing Watkins, who cost Villa £28 million in transfer fees in September 2020 (BBC Sport).
Ollie Watkins could be offered to Leeds and Everton
Jones told GiveMeSPORT over the weekend: “What would happen in a situation like this is, typically, intermediaries start targeting obvious clubs when a player is made to feel like they don’t have much of a future.
“So, if that is the case with Watkins, like it’s been reported, then I would expect Leeds, Crystal Palace, Everton also be offered his services in the next week or so just to gauge how much interest there is out there.”

Good signing?
In our view, if Leeds United or Everton are offered Ollie Watkins, then they should sign the Aston Villa striker.
The 26-year-old is a very good striker who gave two assists for Villa in their win against Everton in the Premier League this past weekend.
Patrick Bamford is the number one striker at Leeds, who could do with signing a new player upfront.
Everton sold Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had injury problems.
Watkins has scored 25 goals and created 13 big chances in 74 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
