Jesse Marsh’s Leeds United and Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace are interested in signing Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window, according to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on Twitter that Leeds and Crystal Palace are monitoring the situation of Aston Villa striker Watkins.

There is no problem between Villa manage Steven Gerrard and the striker, according to Jacobs, who has added that the Villans are calm about the situation.

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, Aston Villa are unlikely to sell Ollie Watkins to Leeds United or Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window, especially now.

The season has already started, and if the £75,000-a-week (Spotrac) England international striker leaves now, then the Villans would have to find a replacement.

And we do not have too much left in this window.

Moreover, Watkins started for Villa against Everton at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday and provided two assists.

Watkins has scored 25 goals and created 13 big chances in 74 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
