Gabriel Jesus is still ‘highly-rated’ at Manchester City despite those Tottenham rumours, according to a report.
The Manchester Evening News have reported about Jesus’s role in Man City colours and how he is still thought of in a positive fashion.
Whilst Spurs don’t want to entertain the idea of selling their star man, it seems as though Man City are putting £100 million on the table, plus some of their talented stars, for the Englishman.
One of them happens to be their own number nine, who has struggled to really cement a regular place in the team since his £27 million move from Palmeiras in 2016 (Sky Sports) – but then again, with Sergio Aguero at the club, how can you?
Despite that, the 24-year-old has still scored a remarkable 82 goals in 195 matches for Manchester City (transfermarkt).
With Euro 2020 in full flow and Jesus starring for Brazil at the Copa America, any real movements or action will, more than likely, happen until after those tournaments are over.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Jesus’s future because he is a player that would help elevate Spurs if he were to join them.
But he would do that with Kane still at the club because Spurs have craved, for many years now, that quality back-up option to their star man.
However, it has to be asked, from Jesus’s perspective, why he would swap playing Champions League football to playing in the Europa Conference league.
Either way, this is set to be an interesting transfer saga involving both Spurs and Manchester City.
And in truth, it would be a surprise if those in North London accept the idea of swapping Jesus for Kane’s talents, even if a load of money is thrown on top of it.
