According to Sport1, Bayern Munich have joined Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign Sebastien Haller, who West Ham sold in January 2021.
What’s the story?
Well, earlier this week, it was said that Borussia Dortmund are considering a move for the Ivory Coast international as a replacement for Erling Haaland.
Now, West Ham’s decision to sell Haller has become even more questionable, as Bayern Munich enter the race for his signature.
It comes after some sources claimed that Bayern Munich upset Robert Lewandowski by trying to sign Haaland, and the Polish striker could now leave the Allianz Arena.
If Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund believe Haller is capable of replacing world class strikers such as Haaland and Lewandowski, then David Moyes might’ve made a mistake.
The Hammers sold the 27-year-old to Ajax in a deal worth £20.25m in January 2021, taking a significant loss on the man they paid £45m for.

Things just didn’t work out for Haller at the London Stadium, as he only scored 14 goals in 54 appearances for the Irons.
This season, however, the Ivorian has been among the most prolific strikers in Europe, scoring 34 goals in 42 games, while also providing nine assists.
West Ham must replace Sebastien Haller
In our view, West Ham still need to find a replacement for Haller, as Michail Antonio is having to shoulder too much of the goalscoring burden.
Moyes hasn’t actually signed a striker since Haller left to join Ajax, and it has been a huge risk to rely on Antonio given his injury problems.

Fortunately, the West Ham No.9 has kept himself fit for the most part, although with UEFA Conference League football on the horizon next season – or even Europa League football – Moyes will need more depth.
Antonio is also 32 years of age, so a younger option must be found.
Keep an eye on West Ham this summer, as we’d be very surprised if they didn’t bring a new striker to east London.
