The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that former Serie A champions Inter want to sign Emerson from Premier League club Tottenham.
The former Barcelona right-back himself is willing to make the switch from Spurs to Inter.
Emerson sees Inter as an ‘important’ club where he could grow, according to Calciomercato.it.
However, Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte is not willing to let go of the 23-year-old until and unless he signs a replacement.
Spurs exit inevitable?
In our view, it is inevitable that Emerson Royal will leave Tottenham Hotspur.
Now, it may not be in January, but if Tottenham finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season as well, then the North London club could decide to offload him next summer and find someone better.
Emerson has not had the best of times at Tottenham and has come under strong criticism, from pundits and fans alike.
Playing as a right wing-back for Tottenham, the £25.73 million (Sky Sports) man has not always impressed, and it is likely that Conte would replace him next summer if he found a better player, especially if Spurs qualify for the UEFA Champions League again.
