Konrad Laimer, a reported Arsenal and Manchester United target, looks set to move this summer.

The Red Bull Leipzig midfielder is out of contract with the Bundesliga outfit in 12 months.

According to 90 Min, Arsenal are interested in signing the 25-year-old, while Ralf Rangnick is reported to have recommended the player to Manchester United, too.

It remains to be seen which of those two get him – if either of them do – but it does look increasingly certain that he’s leaving his current club.

That’s because 90 Min have this morning reported that Laimer has rejected a new deal with the German outfit and is ‘set to move on’ between now and September.

The report reiterates Manchester United’s reported interest but also mentions that the player himself has his heart set on joining Bayern Munich, who are managed by his former boss Julian Nagelsmann.

You can see why Arsenal would be interested.

Despite having Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka, two similar players to Laimer, the latter has been linked with a move away.

According to reports in Italy, Jose Mourinho, a long-term admirer of the Switzerland international, could finally bring him to Roma this summer.

If that were to happen – and it very nearly did last summer – then Arsenal would absolutely need a top-drawer replacement.

And any player being tracked by Bayern Munich is an excellent one.
