Arsenal want to sign Konrad Laimer with Liverpool and Manchester United also keen on signing the RB Leipzig star this summer.

That’s according to 90Min, who claim that Arsenal want to sign Laimer as they identify potential midfield signings.

Laimer, 24, is out of contract in 2023 and it looks like Leipzig may need to sell now before he leaves for nothing in a year.

There is major interest in Laimer’s signature having emerged as one of the top box-to-box players in the Bundesliga.

Arsenal want to sign Konrad Laimer

Arsenal are thought to be one of the clubs keen on signing Laimer this summer.

The competition is fierce though. Ralf Rangnick is understood to have recommended Laimer to Manchester United.

Rangnick oversaw Laimer’s development at Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig.

Now set to become Austria manager, Rangnick is currently set to coach Laimer on the international stage.

That may all point towards United as Laimer’s destination but Arsenal are in the mix alongside Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal may have Champions League football to offer too, which United and Tottenham wouldn’t, giving them hope of securing Laimer.

Who else do Arsenal want in midfield?

It feels like it’s easy to name the midfielders not on Arsenal’s radar at the moment.

Leicester City star Youri Tielemans is a top target with talks understood to be going well.

Sky Sports have claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers star Ruben Neves is the top target on Arsenal’s wish list.

Add in links to the likes of Arthur Melo, Marcel Sabitzer and Douglas Luiz and it seems clear that Arsenal want a new midfielder.

Mohamed Elneny may be staying with a new contract but adding another quality option to compete with Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey is vital.

Laimer could be the man thanks to his intense pressing ability, but there is clearly enormous competition.
