According to Voetbal 24, Manchester City have now entered the race to sign Sheffield United’s Sander Berge, amid interest from Liverpool.
The Belgian news outlet recently claimed that Jürgen Klopp is a huge fan of the 24-cap Norway international, and thinks he’d be perfect for Liverpool.
Now, however, Pep Guardiola has entered the race, and views Berge as the ideal replacement for Fernandinho.
The £22 million midfielder has impressed for the Blades, despite the club’s struggles this season.
They currently sit bottom of the Premier League.
His efforts in England have also led to admiring glances from Arsenal and Tottenham, whose interest was revealed by the Sheffield Star.

With four of England’s biggest clubs interested, Berge clearly has something special.
The 23-year-old slotted into life in the Premier League with ease, and will surely only get better with plenty of time on his side.
For Manchester City to view him as their Fernandinho replacement speaks volumes, given the Brazilian’s importance to the side over the years.

The Citizens No.25 is nearing his 36th birthday, so a fresher option is certainly necessary for Guardiola.
Sheffield United are effectively certain to get relegated, so it is hard to imagine Berge staying at Bramall Lane in the Championship.
In that respect, keep an eye on this transfer saga over the summer – his services seem to be highly sought after by the Premier League’s best.
