Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Alife Whiteman will reportedly depart north London to join top-flight Swedish side Degerfors IF.
According to Fotboll Direkt, the 22-year-old shot-stopper will join the Allsvenskan side to replace outgoing goalkeeper Ismael Diawara.
However, as per the report, it’s not yet known if Whiteman’s move to Degerfors will be a loan transfer of a permanent switch. After all, the Spurs academy graduate has played just one professional game in his senior career.
Indeed, a move to Sweden on loan sounds more likely for the youngster given his form in pre-season.
As reported by Football London, new manager Nuno Espirito Santo has been impressed with Whiteman in this summer’s friendlies.
Whiteman played the full 90 minutes against Football League sides Colchester United and MK Dons and shone in both games.

The 22-year-old saved a penalty against the Dons and made a good case for himself to become an option for the third-choice keeper role.
Moreover, the departure of Joe Hart to Celtic this summer seemingly looked like a guarantee that Whiteman would be Nuno’s third-choice shot-stopper this season.
Spurs also signed Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta to challenge with Hugo Lloris.

Indeed, with Tottenham playing UEFA Europa Conference League, Whiteman could have been given more first-team chances in the European competition.
However, it now looks like the keeper is set for a move to Sweden for the year.
