Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah is reportedly eyeing a move to the Bundesliga in January, with the striker set to leave the north London side next month.

According to the Sun, the 22-year-old has Premier League interest, with Crystal Palace eager to sign the forward in the January transfer window. However, Nketiah and his camp have their sights on a transfer to the Bundesliga for free, with a major payday on the table.

As reported by the Athletic, Arsenal value the attacker at £20m. However, with Nketiah’s contract ending next summer, the Gunners will likely struggle to get even half of this transfer fee next month.

The north London side could receive a hefty compensation fee from an English side if Nketiah leaves for free.

But, Arsenal will get nothing for the youngster if he departs for Europe, which could be the case in 2022.

The forward bagged his first club hat-trick on Tuesday as Arsenal demolished Sunderland 5-1 in the League Cup, and the performance highlighted just how much Nketiah needs to move on from the Premier League giants.

Bundesliga move is perfect for Nketiah

Whist no concrete offers have been made for Nketiah, a move to the Bundesliga could be exactly what the youngster needs to take the next step in his career.

The German top-flight has proven to be a fantastic league in recent years for English players to develop, with Jadon Sancho establishing himself as one of the best wingers in the world with Borussia Dortmund.

And for Nketiah, the Bundesliga could bring him similar success given his already proven talents and his young age, which will make him an interesting target for many top clubs in Germany.
