OGC Nice have reportedly offered a contract to sign former Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley, with Celtic and Rangers also interested in the 28-year-old Englishman.
According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 side have a proposal on the table for Barkley in what could be the last signing for Nice this summer, with the French club having quite a remarkable transfer window that has seen Lucien Favre’s side recruit former Rangers loanee Aaron Ramsey and £72m Arsenal flop Nicolas Pepe on loan.
Whilst Nice have started the season in terrible form, the arrival of Barkley could turn the club’s fortunes around, though reported interest from Celtic and Rangers could cause problems for the French Riveria side in their chase to sign the former Chelsea star, who reportedly earned £200,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge.
Indeed, Barkley is not limited to sign for a new club by tonight’s deadline given his free agent status, however, the likes of Nice, Celtic and Rangers would find it beneficial if they were able to bring the former England international in before the end of the day.

Whilst Celtic and Rangers would be an appealing move for Barkley, Nice seem to be in the driving seat to land the former Chelsea star given the finances the Ligue 1 side can offer the midfielder as well as how alluring the opportunity is to get away from the British media spotlight.
After all, Barkley has been criticised routinely over the years for his attitude both on and off the pitch, and a move to France with Nice could give the midfielder the cultural reset needed to get his career back on track, much to the dismay of both Celtic and Rangers.
